Chocolate Caramel Brownies

Ok I HAVE to share this recipe with all you chocolate & Brownie lovers like myself.
This is the best brownie recipe ever (at least I think so).
This is what you'll need...

* 2 German chocolate cake mixes
(any chocolate mix will do but I personally think the german tastes the best)
* 1 can evaporated milk
* 2 squares of Butter (Not marg.)
* 1 pkg caramels (about 50 caramels)
* 1 pkg milk chocolate chips
(If you like semi then use them I'm a milk chocolate girl though)

In a mixing bowl add 1 cake mix, 1 sq melted butter, & 1/3 cup milk.

Pat into the bottom of a jelly roll pan & bake 6 mins. @ 350 degrees.
(I love my Pampered Chef stone for these brownies)

While baking.
Mix caramels & 1/3 cup of milk in a microwavable dish on high for about 1 min to 1 1/2 mins.  Mix together with wire whisk until creamy.

When the 6 mins. is up take out of oven & pour entire pkg. of chocolate chips over the top.

(If your wondering why some of my chips are darker than others it's because sometimes I like to add about a half bag of mint chips along with the full bag of chips).

Then pour the caramel mixture over the top of the chocolate chips.

Then take mixing bowl add the other cake mix, 1 sq. melted butter, and 1/3 cup of milk together.
Sprinkle this over the top of the caramel & chocolate chips.

 Bake 18 mins @ 350 degrees.

This is what they look like when they're done.
Don't bake longer than 18 mins they will be really gooey and warm.
Wait until they have cooled completley before cutting & eating.
They set up as they cool and are better that way.

I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do.
Your hips and bottom will thank you, mine always do!!!

Heavenly. Yummo, just have to go work out what a square of butter equates to in aussie terms.

Happy SITS day! That recipe looks ridiculously good. If I didn't have a pie sitting on my counter I'd be running out to buy these ingredients!

Heather said...

Oooooooh! YUM!

One question: by "square" of butter do you mean a whole pound of butter? In the picture, the butter looks like the equivalent of 4 sticks the way I buy butter, so that'd be one pound.

(Sorry, don't mean to point out exactly how much butter that is for the calorie-conscious, just trying to get the recipe straight!)

Cheers!

Those look so good and I would make some but I am afraid that I would eat them all my self. Not so good when i just had a baby and I am trying to lose weight. Whats a good excuse for making them ;)

Debbie Y. said...

I shouldn't have clicked on this post for anything. Being a 9 month post-op gastric bypass surgery patient I can't eat sugar and chocolate caramel brownies are my downfall. I used to eat one every day I was pregnant with my daughter, I know I wasn't supposed to have chocolate (caffiene), but I couldn't resist. Thanks a lot! LOL

Congrats on your SITS day.

♥ Becky ♥ said...

Those things look so yummy!!!! I may have to make that this weekend for my girls 17th birthday, with a little vanilla bean ice cream on the side!!!! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Congrats on your SITS day!!

Jennifer said...

Wow, these look dee-lish!

Em said...

Funny thing... I just bought all the stuff to make these! We call them Chocolate Caramel YUMMY! You need a LOT of milk to go with them though but... yummm just thinking about them is making me drool!

EmBee said...

My hips and my bottom are already screaming from being poured into pants which are too tight... I don't think they'd be all that happy if I indulged in something this decadent.
Doesn't mean I won't go and make their lives more miserable.
:-)

Using the PC jelly roll pan is what sold me! If I needed a special new pan, I wouldn't make them, but they look so amazing! I've already written down the ingredients on my list!

My daughter is two and I'm still trying to lose a few pounds of the baby weight I haven't lost yet. Your killing me here with this post. Oh well, I'll fix the brownies and just have one (yeah right) and let the hubby and kids eat the rest and then go to the gym three times next week instead of two (maybe if I can).

Kaza said...

I seriously cannot wait to try these! Happy SITS day!

Oh yum. oh yum. oh yum oh yum oh yum oh yum. Can I just get you to make them for me? Otherwise, I'll eat them ALL. And I'm already back to a weight that I don't want to be at and needing to go down! Tomorrow? Running. I swear! Then maybe I can eat those brownies!

Come to mama! Hello bliss! I would be amazed if all the components actually made it into the bowl/oven for my snacking while I cook.

Melissa Lester said...

You are a girl after my own heart! I love chocolate and caramel. That recipe looks wonderful! I must try it, but only when I am cooking for a crowd or I would want to eat the whole pan myself!

Jenni said...

That recipe sounds delicious! What could be better than chocolate than chocolate and caramel? (Except for both of them with a diet Dr. Pepper, but I digress...) I am going to put this one on my list of must-makes! Thank you for the recipe, and congratulations on your SITS day! :)

I am a milk chocolate girl too and I have eaten at least half a dozen!!! Thanks so much for sharing! This is the best brownie recipe in the whole wide world. It must be the "real butter"!
